Sensitive Chaos
For those who observe in opposing ways.
For those who experience chaos as order, order as chaos.
For those whose invisible sensibilities & sensitivities are of help & hindrance.
For those whose obsessions mean loss of possession of body & mind.
For those who gaze at & through the mirror.
For those seeking solace in solitude & peace of soul.
Jennie Meadows 2021
Sensitive Chaos reflects on and represents those with invisible disabilities who both function and experience life in diametrically opposite ways. The images uniquely consider visual aesthetics and the realisation of the subconscious by revealing the unseen within the natural world. By utilising monochrome and combining negative/positive reversals, the process of conscious looking and unconscious seeing are explored.
This series is Jennie’s final MA Body of Work and the result of many hours spent by the photographer in Bushy Park from October 2020 to March 2021. During this time Jennie observed and photographed the trees within, specifically Hawthorns after which the park is named.
Jennie’s influences for this series include Theodor Schwenk’s research based on the creation of flowing forms of nature and air, Horst P. Horst’s ‘Patterns from Nature’ and the work of William Morris.
All images are available to purchase and will be professionally printed and mounted to order. Framed prints are also available.
